Map Reset!

Official announcement of the map reset!

When?

- A few days after the official release of minecraft 1.6. An exact release date has yet to be announced.

What will be happening:

- A new forum will be created to submit a build to be transferred to the new map.

- Once you have submitted a build, within 24 hours your build will have either been accepted or rejected. Based upon the standards that will be listed below.

- A new warp will be setup /warp reset. You can choose one Stall at this warp. Taking more than one will result in a ban. You can only use the storage provided by the chests. No other things may be added to the Stall.

How much will be moved to the new map:

Members: 2 Builds 1 Stall (3 double chests)

Donors: 3 Builds 1 Stall (3 double chests)

What will be moved to the new map (builds):

- Builds must be attractive.

- Builds must be relatively complete unless the build is for a Architect or Planner Project.

- There is no size limit.

- Builds that are not for Architect or Planner must be relatively complete.

- The 26 Storage buildings.

What will not be moved:

-Any items or item frames in builds. All containers will be wiped before the builds are transfered.

- Anything around the chests at the storage facilities.

- Builds that contain heavy amounts of expensive blocks that are clearly there to get moved and would otherwise not be part of the build.

- MCMMO Levels

- All Virtual Chests.

- Money

Public builds:

- If you have a public build such as a town, spawner, farm etc... You can submit it separately. - These will not count towards your total number of build that you can move.

- These builds must be very well done and complete. If you wish to continue expanding the build after it is transfered that is fine.

Other Notes:

- Hardcore will not be reset at this time.

- You can still edit builds up until there is a news post stating that future changes to builds will not be moved.

It has become increasingly clear that we are in need of more staff members in-game, so we're opening applications to the community. If you fill out an application, we will review it and choose based on the criteria we are looking for, your answers to the questions, and our personal experience with you as a player. If you have submitted an application in the past, you may resubmit a new one if it has been previously denied.

If accepted, you take on a number of responsibilities including but not limited to:

Answering player questions.
Helping users get started.
Moderating chat--excessive language/arguing should result in a mute/kick when appropriate.
Banning and rolling back players who grief or steal.
Watching new members that join EosCraft to see if they grief or steal.
Posting in the EosCraft advertisement threads.
Remain mature, calm, and act professional. You will also be asked to use proper grammar in public chat.
Moderating user topics/posts on the forums.
No power abusing! We have logs, and if we receive valid complaints, you WILL be banned. Not demoted, banned. Abuse of powers include using commands for personal conflict, favoring certain parties, spawning items for others or friends, and other various abilities granted with your position of power.
Stay active for a minimum of 3-5 hours a day, 4-5 days a week. If you are leaving temporarily due to personal conflicts, work, or school, please notify an Admin and post in the staff discussion subforum.
Post your opinion on all applications, ranging from builder applications, staff applications, and ban appeals.

If you think you will get special treatment or item spawning powers, you must not apply as you will be sorely disappointed. You should only be applying for the sole cause of helping EosCraft flourish, not for the reason of gaining benefits, features, or bragging rights based on a title. We are looking for members in all timezones, but are in need for more staff members around European timezone and early to mid-afternoon PST. We are also requesting players to only apply if they are 16+ years of age, however, exceptions have been made in the past. One final request, we are looking for players who aren't a staff member on any other server. We want our staff members to dedicate their time to only EosCraft, not split it up between numerous servers. This exception also applies if you are applying for staff and you are just a member on another server. The New Era of the Treasure Hunt

Btuyl will be away from Eoscraft for a little while, so I've volunteered to take over the treasure hunt until he returns. How exciting? What exactly will be happening on those days?

The server will be receiving a substantial performance boost with a variety of new hardware that is more performance oriented for reliability, efficiency, and faster speeds. The network interface has also been receiving numerous updates over the last week and will be updated and rewritten further over the duration of this week. This will result in faster connectivity to the server, the proxy, and cross server connectivity with greater latency timings for all users. In addition, the firewall has been slightly modified to help prevent against future DDoS attacks on top of a gigabyte backbuffer.

EosCraft Hockey League Tournament!

Hello, hockey fans of EosCraft!

This is your chance!

The first annual EosCraft Hockey Leauge Tournament will be held from April 26th, 2013- April 28th, 2013.

The tournament will be BEST OF 3, meaning you must lose twice to be eliminated - that means every team is guaranteed TWO games!

The game will be played with 2 teams of 3 (3 vs 3) and each player uses their fist, along with a provided Stone sword with Knockback and Unbreaking so slapshots and passes can be executed cleanly. The puck will be a villager wielding a strength potion (that way he can't die!). The first team to score 3 goals is the winner!

Teams can use any set they'd like, such as 2 forwards & 1 goalie, 1 forward, 1 defenseman, & 1 goalie, or even 3 goalies!

Game times will be assigned randomly, but all 2-3 games of each series will be close together.

There will be no seeding in the bracket, therefore the teams you face will be randomly assigned and not based off skill.

Teams will all get their own uniforms to wear, which will be dyed leather armor. Each team gets TWO sets of armor, one serving as a home jersey (dark color, such as black, blue, red, green, purple etc.) and one serving as an away jersey (light color, such as white, yellow, light green, light blue, etc.).

The winning team will be awarded an EosBucks prize of 9000 (divided among the players at their desire), along with their heads hung on a banner hanging from the rafters in the arena! Also, the tournaments MVP (who ends up with the most goals, assists, and best teamwork) gets a bonus prize of 3000 EosBucks! You will be known there as champions! The runner-up will earn a cash prize of 3000 EosBucks (divided among the players at their desire).

Yet another warp building!

Update: In addition, game warps such as Connect Four are on the second floor of this building. There is also a new warp building at /warp warps. This has all the basic server warps needed to get around on EosCraft.

This new warp building will be home to many important warps on the server today. It will be home to all warps for projects, builds and parkour courses, but prospective builds will have to meet a high standard in order to be accepted. Some of the more helpful warps, such as the Redstone Academy will be getting their own warp at /warp help.

We will not be able to move all the warps tonight, but during the next few days you will notice that warps will be removed and added to this building. Additionally, useless warps will be removed during this time period. We will also be adding a new warp called /warp contest to provide easy access to temporary warps created for member-hosted build contests. Like /warp help, this building is yet to be constructed, but a temporary one currently exists at /warp contest.

Important Announcement: MineCraft 1.5 has arrived!

As I'm sure you're all aware, we have been hard at work all day to bring you Minecraft 1.5 before anyone else! The 1.5 update is a fairly major update and, as such, has brought about some fairly major changes on EosCraft. While not everything is running at peak efficiency, we are now live on a stable 1.5 build, and the following outlines where we currently stand.

New Hardcore Donor Ranks!

Also! The new hardcore donor ranks are officially out! We have three new donor ranks (Apprentice, Knight, and Hero) which are $20, $50, and $100 respectively. The new ranks come with quite a few perks including colored nametags, new kits, multiple homes, McMMO enhancements, access to a backpack, and the coveted nickname command! The Future

Today dawns a new era for EosCraft. Over the next month or so, we will be bringing our loyal community a whole slew of new features including new arenas, gamemodes, activities, server-wide mini-events (including two hosted by yours truly...), and who knows what else! Want to know more? Participate on the forums and keep an eye right here on the EosCraft news feed for early announcements of new features and events... You wouldn't want to miss out!

UPDATE: The server is now fully updated to minecraft 1.5.

Mystery block changed! The mystery block that was available in /kit mason has changed IDs... what this means to you is that anywhere that this block has been used in the past will now show nether quartz slabs.

Updates on these issues (and any others that pop up) will be provided as they become available! Enjoy the server in the meantime, and if you discover a 1.5 bug that we don't already know about, Doug has opened a forum thread for bug reports here!

Announcements:

Update: With minecraft 1.5 just around the corner, we will be taking the necessary steps to update the server for minimal downtime. On Wednesday, March 13th, the server will be down for a few hours to update the server architecture and plugins to support minecraft 1.5. In addition, the nether will be reset and pre-generated to support the new ores being introduced. Many new features have been lined up this month to be introduced on the main server and the skyblock/hardcore server will be seeing some of these new additions. To share some insight, the hardcore server will be testing a heavily modified mcmmo with the ability to use the activation skills. A discussion thread about this news article has been created here.

The zombie survival server has been cancelled in addition to the removal of the hunger games server. It has been decided that our main focus should be directed to expanding our community instead of spreading users across different servers. The memory usage that was being used has been dispersed appropriately to the skyblock server, hardcore server, and the main EosCraft server.

The mob arena will be redesigned from the ground up to be more fluid with new classes, new bosses, and up to 100 waves. New arenas will be tested on our main server later this month, ranging from infection to The Walls.

We will be experimenting with anti-spam software for our forums to prevent bots from advertising. It is also now required to state a reason for editing your thread/post and threads can only be removed by an Admin+. In addition, a few sections have been merged and some new categories have been added, such as skyblock and hardcore discussion.

Upcoming Nether Reset

At some point later this month, with the upcoming 1.5 update, we will be resetting the nether. This will allow us to implement the new ore, Nether Quartz. There will be approximately 69 Nether Quartz ores per chunk, so get your pickaxes ready for some mining!

If you have any belongings in the nether, you need to gather them before the reset this month or else they will be lost. Please keep in mind that we are not responsible for the loss of any items, as you have all been warned. No builds will be copied over to the new Nether. More information as to when the reset will take place will be released soon.

Raise your pickaxes, and grab your swords for the new nether update!

Build Button Warp Hub

You can use this button warp hub as a reference for the requirements and expectations of each individual builder level, as well as getting some additional inspiration. EosCraft Hunger Games Event: Date Change, please re-read!

The Hunger Games event is here at EosCraft, as you all know, in the new server that has recently been opened up.

Here is what you need to know:

The event will be Saturday, 2/16/13, or Sunday 2/17/13 for Australians and Europeans.

The event starts at 7 PM server time (PST).

Alliances are ALLOWED.

There will be NO major event taking place in the spawn, nor will there be sponsors.

You are allowed to join the server during a game and watch chat for updates.

You must be on Mumble in order to compete,

whether you can talk or not. This is very

important in order to keep control over

competitors and to talk easily amongst the

other players.

In order to introduce the community, and the world, to the EosCraft Hunger Games server, we are hosting a EosCraft Hunger Games event! There will be 2-3 games played, all set up by me, MrBrick6.

The Hunger Games are now at EosCraft!

On this wonderful addition to EosCraft, you can battle to the death with your friends as if you were actual contestants!

There are going to be donation ranks specific to the Hunger Game server that you can purchase, and with these you will start off each match with a kit to aid you in your survival.

Basic Hunger Games Commands:

/list - Tells you both players who are alive and dead in a game. You must be in a match to use this command.
/sg vote - Allows you to start a game by votes.
/sg spectate 1-4 - Allows you to spectate active games. The number specifies which arena you would like to spectate. Shift and Click to teleport to different players. To go back to the lobby, type in /sg spectate again.
/sg leave - Teleports you to spawn.
/spawn - Teleports you to the spawn in case of an emergency.

Button Warps at Spawn

The issue with Button Warps has been fixed thanks to Doug! All warps to Towns, Spawners and Farms will be removed by Monday Pst. We are trying to narrow down the amount of warps, our target being that we only have warps to hubs that contain button warps to the various locations within that category. Below, you will find a brief description of each of the hubs.

- At /warp farms you can find a wide variety of Public Farms to satisfy your nature needs. If you choose to use these farms, you are agreeing to replant all crops you harvest.

- At /warp towns you can teleport to the various cities around EosCraft. Please keep in mind that there are requirements you must meet in order to enlist your town here. There are spots to advertise your town for a fee.

- At /warp spawners you can teleport to both player and staff created spawners to rack up some experience. Do not tamper with the spawners or other equipment used for it's operation.

- At /warp builder you can get inspiration for a project of your own and an understanding of the expectations for each builder rank.
